Critical Theory a été créé en janvier 2012 par la chanteuse. Le batteur a rejoint le projet durant le même mois et c'est ensemble qu'ils ont tissés les premiers liens de CT en faisant des cover de ADTR, Blink182, Paramore etc...
C'est en mars/avril de la même année qu'Oscar, premier guitaris...
